Michelle,

Firstly I would like to state I have no involvement with Holland and no desire to start an argument either.

But I had to say something re your post about man of the match.

From my experience in youth football and it is vast I dont believe for one minute that you should just hand out mom awards to players just to even it up and spread them around.

That will have a very negative affect on the better players who in most instances probably deserve the accolade.

If the better players see a lad get mom and they know they were'nt do you not think they will feel aggrieved?

In my humble opinion you must give the awards to the best players and give the weaker players something to aspire to or you make the trophies worthless.

I would like to point out this is my opinion and I am sure people will disagree but hey thats what forums are for.

It has come to my attention that holland under 9 reds, the man of the match award always goes to certain boys without names being mentioned, there are 7 players in the team and all 7 players should get the chance of having the gratitude of recieving the award, if too keep your players wanting to play with this team then you need to look apon how your selections are made for the man of the match award.

We and all my players and coaches always look out for the youth team's results,
Really good to see the youth team's doing so well,
I hope we can keep the boys together, so in the coming season's we will be stronger and have the younger player's coming threw,
hopefully into the first team, hats off the all the managers and coaches,
THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT, THE FUTURE IS ORANGE,
Neil Hammond, first team manager

Have just visited this site for the first time and commend you on the way Holland FC are succeding in the Colchester and District Youth Leagues. Have noticed that at least one person as listed as current squad doesn't exist. N Hnorf isn't actually a member of u9 reds this was how my son Nicholas Moore was mentioned in a match report for scoring in a game earlier in the season. As a whole I think HFC are very competant and will do well but a little more feedback about the Club with newsletters etc may help parents a bit. Some of the managers don't communicate easily with the parents on the line. Is there a complaints process in situ as many parents were disappointed with the behaviour of the ref and parents of the opposition at a game against Lawford recently. On some occassions the Club house has not been open when we have home matches surely this is a missed opportunity for revenue for the club.

I love finding out the scores of my nephews games, Jonathan Anselmi. Its a fun way for his cousins to read about how he played and who his team mates are.
